Updates on Our Safety Protocols for COVID-19

Tuesday, August 17, 2021

Due to the increased number of cases of COVID-19 from the Delta variant to our region, we want to keep you updated on SouthCoast Health’s safety protocols for COVID-19. As a reminder, these procedures are in place to protect the health of our patients, employees, and the community.

Currently, we are limiting the number of people that enter our offices and requesting that adult patients come to their appointments alone. Exceptions will be made if assistance or a caregiver is needed. For pediatric patients, please limit to one parent or caregiver, exceptions considered.

We ask for your patience. Our team is working relentlessly to provide quality care with a limited staff due to being sick themselves. We may have to reschedule non-sick visits to accommodate the high demand of patients needing immediate care.

With an extreme number of calls to our offices, we ask for you to utilize our online scheduling tool or your myPrivia patient portal account to communicate with us when possible.

If you have any symptoms for COVID-19, please call your primary care physician’s office for further instruction. This applies to everyone including those that have a previously scheduled appointment. Symptoms include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue Muscle or body aches
  • Headache New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

As a reminder, SouthCoast Health is asking out patients to help us contain the spread in the community by doing the following precautions:

  • If you have not received the COVID-19 vaccination, we strongly encourage you to schedule one as soon as possible. Please call your physician’s office for availability, visit our walk-in vaccination clinic, or make arrangements to get vaccinated at one of many facilities in our community that now offer the vaccine.
  • Wear a mask. Per the CDC’s guidance, SouthCoast Health is requiring all patients, vaccinated or not, to wear face masks in our facilities. Patients who refuse to wear a mask and are not experiencing a medical emergency will NOT be allowed to remain in the facility.
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Practice social distancing.

We appreciate your cooperation as we strive to accommodate your needs and keep everyone healthy. As we continue working together toward overcoming this pandemic, SouthCoast Health remains here for you today and tomorrow as a trusted source of community healthcare and information. Please refer to our website and social media channels for the latest updates.
